Winter Trend Guide
So, while we are all perpetually trapped inside our homes this winter season, the fashion world has yet to call it quits and succumb to sweatpants and the same t-shirt you’ve been wearing for five days straight.
Balloon Sleeves
Balloon sleeve are back and bigger than ever. Designers like Chanel have taken this trend on by force. This dress also shows off the trend of throwing it back to the Victorian ages with the addition of the belt.
Cardigans (duh…it’s cold)
Oversized cardigans are all the rage. I mean, they are cuddly and comfy for winter so, I’m not sure why they wouldn’t be. Take this one from No 21’s Fall collection. They upped their ante with the beading and a cute pair of pumps.
Fringe
This is probably one of my favorite and the most accessible trend of the season. From Blank NYC to Jil Sander (pictured), this trend is taking the fashion world by storm. Fringe is in baby, and I’m 100% okay with it.
Wide leg Trousers Tucked into Boots
I tried this one with my favorite red croc boots from Sam Edleman and it was pretty cool. Not going to lie, to quote my roommate, it takes a special person to pull this one off. And, I sort of agree.
Gold and Glitters
Gold and metallics are in this holiday season. Brands from Maje Paris to MSGM (pictured) are decorating with these bold accents. I love MSGM’s usage of a glamorous monochromatic look different texture plays with ruffles on the neckline and waist.
Check
The criss-cross pattern is a classic fall look. Dior (pictured) stepped up their check game by featuring the signature pattern in matching sets.
Skirt/Shorts Suit
Taking a girly turn on the suit trend. Shorts and skirts are replacing pants for suits. Brands such as Marc Jacobs (pictured), Lanvin, and Sandro Paris have adopted this trend.
Blues + Natural Tones
Whether it’s worked into your check this season, using pastel and royal blues mixed in with warm neutrals is an easy trend to hop on to. Invest in a blue turtleneck and pair it with those khaki pants like this one pictured from Net-a-Porter.
